War, Day 18

3/15/10

Bedtime:  11:00 pm

Alarm:  6:00 am

Snooze:  zero

I am all for keeping the sun up later in the evening.  It was nice to be outside at 6:30 last night and still be able to see.  I am not for letting the sun sleep in.  It was not nice to get up at 6:00 this morning and still be dark.  I would like the sun to come up earlier, please.  Who do I make that complaint to?  I really do not like getting up when it is still dark out.  Something about being up before the sun just does not make me happy.

But, I did it.

This morning John and I both got new phones.  We upgraded into the BlackBerry world.  And I got a new phone number.  I have been using my cell phone as my alarm clock, so now I need to figure out how to use the BlackBerry as an alarm.  And how to use it as the internet and to get my email.  And how to use the camera.  And how to use the calendar and to-do list.  And the navigation.  Oh yeah, and how to make a phone call.  (Isn’t that crazy, how the phone call part of the phones is now almost an afterthought?)  I have been having fun playing with it so far, though.  Enough so John said, “Now, don’t forget you actually have to work this afternoon.  You can’t just play with your new toy all day.”  Sadly, he’s right.

Tonight I am heading up to Lafayette for the week.  I’ll be staying with some friends (and the mornings will be hard – they always are when I am not at home), and working long hours in the lab to get some protein experiments done.  Wish me safe travels and lucky lab work!

One Response to War, Day 18

NOOOOOOO… not a blackberry. They’re terrible and non-intuitive. I am a fan of my iPhone and (from what I have seen) Android is a nice operating environment…. but I really dislike the BlackBerry operating environment.

I hope it works for you. 🙂
